Well the WWF has an interview that confirms the internet's "news" that DDP may be retiring...
"NEW YORK – Diamond Dallas Page was all smiles as he hosted the RAW party here at WWF New York on Monday night. But behind those smiles, DDP has a lot on his mind. After suffering a freak neck injury on a recent episode of SmackDown!, the three-time former WCW Champion’s career hangs in the balance.
DDP’s troubles began during a match with Hardcore Holly on the April 18 episode of SmackDown! During the bout, DDP got hit with a series of moves that knocked him for a loop.
“I got hit with a boot in the corner that really rocked me,” DDP told WWF.com. “And then he hit me with a clothesline that knocked me to dream street. I didn’t even know where I was at that point.
“I got reconfigured to where I was at, to where I knew where I was at. Then he went to go up top, I dove at the ropes, and he took a nut shot on the ropes. Then I went to suplex him off the ropes, and when I went to do that, I pulled him over. I didn’t realize I was still weary until I hit the mat. I went to lay Bob flat, which to me is the most important thing, but I buckled. So instead of landing flat, I landed on my neck and shoulders. It really scared me, because it shot right through my hands and through my feet. It was like a major vibration that I’d never felt before. I thought I broke my neck, and that scared the s**t out of me.
“I laid there for a second or two and I tried to start moving something to make sure that I didn’t break my neck, and I didn’t obviously. I heard him go, ‘Ohhhh!’ And I’m like, ‘What the hell is he bitching about?’ Turns out that when my feet came around, I had accidentally kicked him right in the (groin).
“Later on, he apologized for hitting me so hard with that clothesline. He said, ‘I knew I hit you hard, because I thought I tore my bicep.’ And if you looked at Bobby’s arm – which is like a leg, by the way, it’s friggin’ huge – my faceprint was in part of his elbow. I just started laughing. My neck was killing me at the time, but the adrenaline was still flowing so I didn’t feel it as bad, so it was funny.
“Then Bob said, ‘But when you came with that suplex, you kicked me in the (groin) so hard I thought my (groin) was on fire.’ And we both started laughing.
“Bobby didn’t mean to hurt me. Hey, this isn’t checkers. You go out there, and you hit hard. I’ve knocked guys out before too. It just happens. Like I always say, ‘fake’ is way too strong a word for wrestling. It’s not fake; it’s fixed, especially if you’re working with Hardcore....”
