Pop star Britney Spears is hooked on sugar as she fights substance abuse issues in rehab, according to reports.

The Toxic singer is reportedly guzzling up to 24 cans of Coca-Cola daily as she fights her demons at Promises Rehab Center in Malibu, California.

A source tells American publication Star, "She has been drinking tons of Coca-Cola - about two cases a day, or 24 Cokes in 24 hours. She often drinks one after the other. Usually when a patient eats (a lot of) sugar, it means they are coming down from a drug that kept them really up, like cocaine or speed."

The soft drink binges are reportedly only part of Spears' sugar fix. The source adds, "She is also constantly eating lollipops and other hard candy and when she eats food, it's always something sweet, like danishes (pastries) or donuts or cake or cookies."
