Mischa Barton just can’t seem to land, and stick with, a good man. The actress also has some pretty strong beliefs as to why Mr. Right has been nowhere to be found.

The 21-year-old actress has blamed her failed romances on her “successful career” and the “intense interest in her private life.”

Monsters & Critics quotes Mischa as stating: “I think it’s hard for any man to be with me, because I see how the people around me struggle to live with my fame. It’s hard to get used to people talking about me and looking at me. Sometimes I say I want someone ‘normal’, but I don’t know if I really mean that.”

No longer working on ‘The O.C.,’ which launched her career, Mischa is focusing on lining up some big screen projects. With little time for men at the moment, the actress said that she is not putting a lot of time into finding a boyfriend. Meanwhile, Barton did not rule out the chance that a guy who can make her laugh may sweep her off of her feet, but the standards seem to be set quite high.

Mischa explained: “It’s hard to find guys on my wavelength because I am such a driven person, and always working. I want someone who has a great sense of humor. My life is all about humor, plus some depth, intelligence and confidence.... that’s what matters to me most.”
