I agree with you though Stinger, it would be so nice to see more bands like Evanescence (I'm thinking Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation and Nightwish) get more recognition for their unique music which they are very passionate about and take the time to get so perfect. I think 3 years was a good break also, it gives a band enough time to get a slightly different sound going and write about new things. I'm thinking The Open Door will be an absolutely awesome 2nd album, it seems very ethereal so far. |

Also you mentioned Lacuna Coil I actually just downloaded three of their song and they aren't that bad, I first heard them on the soundtrack for Underworld: Evolution, but I really like their cover of Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence' the best. If you haven't heard it yet they just released a video for it not too long ago and it's on YouTube. |
First time I heard that song it was a little over a month ago when I saw them live.
I didn't know they had this cover done cause I hadn't heard the new album yet. So Cristina went "Do you like Depeche Mode?" Everybody screaming yes for some reason. Then the song started and I was like holy crap, what a cover! lol. When I got home first thing I did was buy the album.
With the new album they changed their style a bit. Comalies was a damn good album too. The new one is different, but not less of quality. They're being slightly progressive, I like that, and I also like where they're heading.
