I also think Pekerman wanted to defend the 1-0 against Germany. But it's stupid to do that Cambiasso as substitute for Riquelme. How many time was there left after the goalkeeper substitute? About 20 minutes? When you're 1-0 up and Germany have to attack, their defense will start to fall open and with Messi you're 2-0 up in a few minutes.
Bad decision from Pekerman and it's good he decided to leave the national team.
With this QF and the mistakes he made during the match, he can't come back to Argentina.
