'Holland proof'?

Explain!
Group A
The FIFA gave everyone a good laugh when putting Germany in this Group, on paper an easy one. Despite the fact that Chris thinks Poland isn't much, I see them finishing 2nd, behind the Germans.

And what happend with Brazil in your imagination?
Group B
England & Sweden are definitely the favorites. And the roads of these two countries have crossed each other quite a lot the last couple of years, so it could be interesting. Maybe Sweden will even end 1st? With Ljungberg, Larsson & Ibrahimovic they're very strong, in my opinion stronger than England. Sorry Neil.
Group C
HOLLAND!
Honestly, the toughest group of all and I love to see us advancing (duh!

), but it won't be an easy task.
Last Result: Holland 1-1 Australia
Group D
Cristiano Ronaldo, Nuno Gomes, Figo, Pauleta, name your favorites. They'll end 1st before Mexico, from which I also can't understand how they got on the 4th spott of the World Ranking ...
Group E
Will the Italian scandal have influenced the national squad?
Group F
I'd love to see Hiddink advancing with his Australian team, with Brazil ending on top of this group.
Group G
As you may know, I have a subscription to a Dutch Football Magazine and in this week's edition all 32 squads are presented and I think France have chances.

QF, SF? I wouldn't count them out yet.
Group H
Spain never do well on a World Cup. They'll advance to the 2nd Round, but a QF is as far as I see them coming.

Ukraine qualified ahead of Greece (European Champions), Turkey (3rd in 2002) and Denmark (regular qualifiers and a good, solid team) on merit. They have a very good striker in Shevchenko, and I believe they'll win this group and reach the Quarter-Finals. From then on, we shall see just how strong they are. Spain should qualify, but they'll need to watch out for Tunisia. |
I don't think we've discussed Sheva's transfer to Chelsea here yet. What's your opinion on that?
ENJOY!
Neil - Fantastic opening thread!
