Hmm, that to me is like using cheat codes to beat a videogame. It makes me think of impatient and lazy people. People with a mindset of, result is everything. They wouldn't go mountain climbing unless there's a treasure with lots of gold at the top.

I'm different in that, I set goals for myself, yes. But I don't do it because of the results I'd get. I do it because of the journey. I improve myself constantly. But I do it with a timespan of years and years. I enjoy working on building something. And it doesn't matter to me how long it takes. The only thing that matters to me is being busy, and being happy doing it. And once I'm done, I can say hell yeah, I did that. And then begin something new.

Unfortunately all I ever see around me are people who are obessed with results. I always say, the result of life is death. So try and align these mindsets and you can ask yourself the question, are you living to die, or are you living to live? Through life you make a journey, and the end result is you die. So everyone lives for the journey whether they realize it or not.

And I found that anything you do, doing it for the journey makes you feel much much better, than doing things for the result. I'll get back to that later.

Why? And what do you mean by 'fix'? Are things broken?

Near impossible does not mean completely impossible.

Let me be the first to shatter that image then. Stinger doesn't care about spotlights, he doesn't care if he's pretty or not, and he doesn't have any boobs.

It could be a matter of taste, but I have many reasons why I believe plastic surgery is far from improvement.

Moving on straight to the question I asked earlier. Why do people want to have plastic surgery? Answers I've been given are as follows:

4. To look 'better' in comparison to other people
(because the grass is always greener elsewhere)

3. To put an end to being called 'ugly'
(in the process taking serious some mindless whining by people with low IQ activity)

2. To take away one's own insecurities
(to which plastic surgery is a patch too small to seal an immensely bleeding wound)

And the absolute number one reason:

1. To feel more confident

To try and prevent from making my post any longer than it'll already be, I'll restrict myself to elaborating on number 1 and 2 only.

2. To take away one's own insecurities

To fight insecurity, you need to improve yourself. Do a little something here, do a little something there, and once done, you'll be feeling good for a while, and then more needs to be improved until you've reworked your entire body and you end up covering your face in public like Michael Jackson, or looking like a cloning project gone wrong in Cher. As a result, the insecurities in Jackson's case will either increase, or in Cher's case, thinking you're pretty (not certain if she actually thinks she's pretty) when the rest of the world thinks you look like crap. Has Cher ever been among girls on FHM's most beautiful women list? Certainly not among the top branch.

True improvement is not about enjoying the result. Improvement is about the things you learn on your way to that result. Otherwise -- tagging into what I said earlier -- life itself would be meaningless too.

1. To feel more confident

The ace in the game. "Now that I finally look the way I want to look, I feel so much better and so much happier inside." Newsflash! It won't last. Not even mentioning all those people that frown upon plastic surgery, and all those who don't like the 'unnatural' look that you will come across, if you weren't confident before the surgery, you have a weakness likely to return when taking into consideration that plastic surgery is only a temporary solution to your problem, as when you age, you'll lose your 'good' looks anyways. Also the downward spiral of once a nosejob, more nosejobs is likely to take place later on in life as a result of constant confidence dropping.

There's this girl who just started at the gym I talk a lot to who asked me if she should have bigger boobs, cause hers were so small in comparisson to other girls. While she has a perfect looking body. Yeah, she got really small boobs, but what you're essentially doing is disecting the body into parts and looking at them individually. Oh my nose is weird shaped. Oh my boobs are too small. Oh my toe. Oh my left ear. So you take all the body parts, you improve them individually, put 'em all back together, and what you get is nothing more than the sum of the parts. While the original human body as it looks like in natural state, is so much more than just the sum of it's parts.

The problem is when you start changing those parts, that goes away. I remember some picture of you posted somewhere, and I believe you have nothing to complain about. Not saying that you are, but if you start changing stuff, there's a big possibility that you're going to look less attractive than before.

Not just the outside of your body plays a role in your appearance, but also your personality, your mood, the weather outside and you name it. Tamper with one of them and you throw the whole thing out of balance. That is also why people with altered faces to many others look weird.

Back to the question why. Why do you believe your confidence level will rise upon surgery? Is that cause you'll look like you want to look, or is it to impress other people? Or both?

There are much better and much more effective ways to improve your state of mind, than to surgically alter some attributes of the outter shell your soul resides in.

For example, if you want to change your body, and you do it the old fashioned way, you will not only allow your body to grow, but also your soul. Taking the short cut, that won't happen. While the key of raising confidence level and create overall happiness (even about your looks) lies in the growth of your soul.

The reason you were given this life is to allow your soul to grow. As part of that process is accepting yourself, who you are and the way you look. You can shape your own image changing clothing, hairstyle and your mood. I don't want to be writing a guide on how to change your mood to stop caring so much about the details of your body though. But it is very possible.

My conclusion. The ultimate reason why plastic surgery for people with low confidence is not the answer is because low confidence is a psychological problem and needs to be dealt with in that fashion. Surgically altering your body won't solve the problem, only pospone it. You'll be adapting your body to the way you feel at that time. After a buncha years, the way you feel has changed because it always does, and then you and your body are once again clashing with eachother in front of the mirror, only to open Chapter 2 of the 'Addicted to Plastic Surgery' book, screwing up your entire body in the process.

There's the issue of thinking long term vs thinking short term that will determine whether it's a good idea or not. Pamela had a boob job and used it to her advantage. Had it removed years later, and then redone even. I think Pamela is a very pretty woman. With the exception of her boobs. They looked a lot nicer before she had them altered, even when one of the two was slightly smaller than the other. Looked charming in a unique way regardless. Now things just look out of whack.

Going back to the girl I was talking to, I told her no, you shouldn't change anything. You look good the way you do, and bigger boobs will not stroke with the shape of the rest of your body. Your body comes out best when your boobs are small. And your personality goes hand in hand with that. She was confused and didn't get it, I think. A friend of mine was there too and agreed with me. She's probably still too young. Some day she'll understand what I meant though.

With that said, I'm all for sharing my opinion on the subject, but I personally could care less if people would have themselves altered or not. As long as they won't expect me to find them more attractive, cause I won't.
