Sam, a 14-year-old pedigree from California, has won the title of the world's ugliest dog - and few could disagree. He boasts ghoulish eyes, wrinkled hair-less skin and jagged teeth.
Sam has been the pet of Susie Lockheed from Santa Barbara for six years - after his previous owner rejected him and a rescue centre feared no-one wanted him.
As a child, Ms Lockheed was allergic to hairy dogs so Sam - a Chinese Crested - is perfect. She says he was a gift from God, and was a constant companion when she was being treated for cancer.
