I wouldn't be too sure about that...
Evenso, as I have said before, and will say again, your constitution is full of holes. If it was so great and awesome, then it why does it have so many amendments? History proves that it is outdated. Big time. There's a saying that sounds "you have to change with the times", and sometimes an issue pops up that will require such a change.

Yes it is harsh, and that is the same way you treat the gay society. When you say something like this
"Well, 20 years ago people didn't even imagine gays marrying now.. guess what? 20 Years passed, and now they are demanding marrige rights..." you are pointing your finger at them and say "you gay people" suggesting that they are doing something that they should not be doing, just as I am pointing my finger at 'you Americans' suggesting that you're doing something that you shouldn't be doing.
People will stop being harsh to you in their words, once you stop being harsh to others in your actions. Where 'you' is used in plural form, I must add.
I wasn't talking about Iraq though. I'm talking about how you want to control your own folk. You want to decide about the rights of gay people that every citizen has except for them, and with that you deem them less than you are. For the fact alone that you want to deny them a marriage you show that you feel that you're better than them because you deserve to get married and they don't. I've heard the political correct excuses all before, but that's nothing but talk talk talk. Prove it. Show that you can live your life while somewhere in your country some gay person might get married. Stop worrying about their lives, start worrying about your own.

No one is going to start a Civil War.. Why is being Anti- Gay Marrige gonna mess with the economy? How is that gonna happen? Nothing gonna happen with the economy. Well, I dont like a lot of things your government does, but Im not gonna throw away something that says Made In Holland, now am I? I think you're over-exadurating with this whole Civil War stuff. |
And I think you're underestimating the seriousness of what you're doing. To you it is just another gay person who should shut his/her mouth. To them it's their entire life. You are messing with their whole future. We have a saying that says a cornered cat will make unexpected jumps. Your overconfidence will be your downfall.
Furthermore, you have no idea how many gays exist. Also, you really think it would just be gay people to support that civil war? Thousands of people are sick and tired of all those who try to control the lives of others. All it takes is for one sheep to cross that bridge, and more will come.

Originally posted by Possum Well, It wouldn't be smart, if you were going to boycott us because you disagree with something in this country. The only reason that so many countries in Europe hate us, is mainly because of the media there. Im sure its NOT Pro-Conservative or Pro-Conservative Ideals at all. Im sure they portray President Bush as the son of the devil and whatnot. Hey, you said it yourself that he could be the anti-christ... I dont think anyone living here or oposing him would think of such Radical things to say. But I dont blame you. If I lived in Europe, I'd hate america too from all of the 1 sided bias there. Besides, Al Queada hasn't only threatened the United States. It pledges death to America Israel and Europe. 3/11 in Madrid, and there have been reports of discrimination against muslims in Scandanavian countries like Sweden. So.. I would watch your back as well. lol. |
That is typical American behaviour, to blame it on the media instead of perhaps thinking to yourself that maybe this time you're not the greatest country in the world with the greatest ideals in the world. I don't need any media to form my opinions. For example, all I really need to do is talk to people online, check out some message boards, including this one, and see what people like you and people like Allie have to say. The fact that Allie, who lives right there in the USA completely agrees with my previous post already defeats your media argument. Surely you won't try to sell that everyone who disagrees with your ideals is clouded by media...
Furthermore, I wouldn't point at Europe and say that they hate America. You'd need to be someone like Bin Laden to be able to hate America. It's just the continuous holier than thou attitudes that damages your country's reputation. You're fighting this right to marry thing with all your heart as if your life depended on it, while in reality it's
their lives that depend on it...

...and the reality is that nothing will happen to you should it be accepted. In my country it is accepted and nobody died either. Nobody got hurt and everybody is still living their lives the way they are supposed to. It will be no different in your country. But because you're all so fixated on looking through the window of the neighbour's house, you get aggravated by what the neighbour is doing. If you want to feel better, stop looking through the neighbour's window. It's that simple.
We're at six years or so, and there are still no polygamists demanding anything, and as you said so yourself, you have no idea what the future holds. Life's all about taking risks, and denying a group of people from something that is of life importance to them because of something that you don't even know will happen is like staying in your house because a car might hit you on your way out.
No, it is like commanding someone else to stay inside because a car might hit
you on
their way out. heh
