But to answer the question, unfortunatley I'm anemic, underweight, and don't have a good blood cell count, so I'm not allowed to give blood. I really want too though. I think it's a great thing to do, and I'm not scared of needles. I think I'll try again and see if they'll let me. |
Ive had problems with my iron count too... the last time i went they turned me away with iron tablets cuz my blood was too lacking of iron for them to have. But even though i get scared and collapse everytime i do i feel so good about it afterwards cuz i know its such a help.
You know, only 6% of the UK give blood? Its far too low.
As fir the donor card - i dont have one. I cant stand the thought of a few surgeons messing about with my body after I'm dead. Cutting me up and burying a hollow shell of a corpse. However i would gladly donate a kidney or bone marrow if anybody needed... I'm looking into bone marrow donations, but u have to be 18 - less than 2 weeks is my 18th bday, so i shall register within the month!
