Wow, I didnt know this:
Women's world No 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium completed a remarkable comeback from illness when she won the women's singles gold medal at the Olympic tennis tournament Saturday beating second seed Amelie Mauresmo of France 6-3, 6-3.
She broke Mauresmo twice in each set to wrap up the win in 1hr 15min. The Frenchwoman never had a break point.
The 22-year-old Belgian has spent most of the year battling a debilitating virus and had played just two matches in four months before coming to Athens where she has now played six matches in a week. |
