I caught a bit of the gymnastics earlier on. I usually like to watch quite a bit of them, but I haven't seen a lot this time so far. Hope to catch some highlights later!

Olympic Soccer
To catch up with Sunday's matches..

(B) Japan 2-3 Italy
(B) Paraguay 1-2 Ghana
(D) Costa Rica 0-2 Iraq
(D) Morocco 1-2 Portugal

Looks like your predictions there were slightly off Chris. I'm surprised to see Iraq doing so well in the football. Two wins means they're through to the Quarter-Final stage now.

Today:

Men's
Group A
Greece 2-3 Mexico
Korea 3-3 Mali

Korea were 3-0 down after 55 minutes, but staged a brilliant comeback with 3 goals in 3 minutes! - Jae (61) (62) & and own goal (64) provided Korea with the goals. Greece go out after gaining only one point from their group matches.

Group A Standings
1. Mali. 1/2/0 5/3 5.
2. Korea. 1/2/0 6/5 5.
3. Mexico. 1/1/1 3/3 4.
4. Greece. 0/1/2 4/7 1.

Group C
Argentina 1-0 Australia
Serbia 2-3 Tunisia

Argentina ease into the Quarter-Finals with their 3rd win. They've gone through all group games without conceding a goal too. I'd say they're hot favourites for the gold medal atm. Serbia almost managed their first point, but were robbed by an 89th minute goal .. just a minute after Serbia had made it 2-2!

Group C Standings
1. Argentina. 3/0/0 9/0 9.
2. Australia. 1/1/1 6/3 4.
3. Tunisia. 1/1/1 4/5 4.
4. Serbia. 0/0/3 3/14 0.

Women's
Group E
Swden 2-1 Nigeria

Group E Standings
1. Sweden. 1/0/1 2/2 3.
2. Nigeria. 1/0/1 2/2 3.
3. Japan. 1/0/1 1/1 3.

Group F
Germany 2-0 Mexico

Group F Standings
1. Germany. 2/0/0 10/0 6.
2. Mexico. 0/1/1 1/3 1.
3. China. 0/1/1 1/9 1.

Group G
Greece 0-7 Brazil
USA 1-1 Australia

Group G Standings
1. USA. 2/1/0 6/1 7.
2. Brazil. 2/0/1 8/2 6.
3. Australia. 1/2/0 2/2 4.
4. Greece. 0/0/3 0/11 0.

Quarter-Final Draw
Mexico .v. Brazil
Germany .v. Nigeria
USA .v. Japan
Sweden .v. Australia

All due to be played on Saturday!

Tommorow:

(B) Japan .v. Ghana
(B) Paraguay .v. Italy
(D) Costa Rica .v. Portugal
(D) Morocco .v. Iraq

In Group B the top 2 positions are open to Ghana, Italy and Paraguay .. Japan are already out. I suspect Ghana will beat Japan, with Italy overcoming Paraguay.
In Group D Iraq are (as I mentioned earlier) already through. Portugal currently hold 2nd place, with Costa Rica and Morocco both 2 points behind. I predict Iraq to top the group with 9 points and Portugal to come in 2nd place with a draw against Costa Rica. If Iraq do finish top, they'll face Australia in the Quarter-Finals!

The British hockey team has had mixed fortunes so far. On Sunday we defeated the Egyptian team 3-1, but today we lost 3-2 to Korea. I hope for a better result against Spain on Thursday.

Tim Henman out...
It's a shame, but he doesn't like those kind of conditions. It's an aspect of his game he really needs to improve.

Yeah, I heard this too, but totally forgot to include it in my post, lol. She was taken to hospital as a precaution after singing a few songs at the Australian pre-games party (or something like that).
