I hope your cat lives. Dude, I know how you feel. My baby went away when we moved to Virginia. We gave her back to the pound. It was a hard choice. But we did it, cause she would've hated staying in a hotel for 3 months. Cause I know I hated it. But I miss her more now. Good luck, dude!
