oh well.. Well done Jeremy.

Ireland have lost the second test of their tour to South Africa by 26 points to 17. The Irish started well with a converted try from Tyrone Howe before Girvan Dempsey went off a blow to the head. He was replaced by Gavin Duffy but SA went ahead soon after, following a try from winger Breyton Paulse. Returning hero Percy Montgomerie added points from the boot and also converted a try by his other winger Jacque Fourie. A drop-goal from O'Gara just before half time left the score 20 - 10 at the break.

The tourists rallied in the second half and Eddie O'Sullivan's decision to replace the half-backs with Guy Easterby and David Humphreys seemed to be turning the match in Ireland's favour. Ever-dangerous captain Brian O'Driscoll collected a Humphreys grubber-kick to score after 62 minutes, while the home side were a man down with Wayne Julies in the sin-bin. Humphreys quickly converted and Ireland continued to run at the opposition but the South Africans held on to win. A penalty from Montgomerie at the death gave a final scoreline of 26 - 17.
