Considering the amount of sports posts posted here, I would say no, we don't need it. But I do know that certain members like KB have been waiting for one for quite some time.
So I expect that with this forum, peeps are gonna post like hell about sports and that means more fun for the current sports fans here. So I'd say give it a shot. It would look nice next to the Sports Entertainment Forum.
