Well I think we're witnessing the return of the Booker T you rave about.

Take a look at Smackdown!, Booker's new home. In one show, he has easily shifted into heel mode and he is conducting his business in a damn serious manner. No more jokes, no more Spin-A-Roonies. He almost won the WWE Title last night from Eddie Guerrero. You'll be pleased, Stinger. I'm very sure of this.
Oooooh I can't wait! *looks at download* 17.9%. 36 hours to go at current speed. We're slow today.

I'll go ahead and pause the TNA download while SmackDown is downloading then. It might help me some. Is that anywhere on TV, btw? I never download it, but the one from March 24 features the return of Sting. Can't pass on that one.

Oh yes, I too am annoyed greatly by King's juvenile announcing. Plus, he has a lot of unintelligent, nonsensical things to say about things other than the women. I mean, he switches horses so damn much. His opinions are inconsistent in many cases. It's annoying. The only time he sounds smart is when he is put next to Coach.
I agree yeah. The first 'heel' announcer I ever witnessed was Mark Madden, and at first I was like, holy crap what a dumb bastard. But after a few months I did start to respect the man, because he was very consistent in his words and he pretty much always sucked up to heels like Triple H now. He btw, was the man who thought up the phraze 'spin-a-roonie'. The move never really had a name until mid 2000 when during a match Booker T did it again, and Mark just said "spin-a-roonie spin-a-roonie spin-a-roonie". I remember I found that so annoying when he did that, but it became a household name. lol

Tazz is cool. I love his analyses of strategy. Cole is annoying. Cole is good, yes. But he's annoying as hell because he is just so clueless. He can't ever put 2 and 2 together and figure something out for himself. And I admire his passion and his dedication to making someone seem like a horrible villain. But I just can't help but think he's too easily offended. I don't know. Cole doesn't get many breaks from me. He just flat out annoys me. But he has skills, no doubt. I respect him and his accomplishments in his career.

As for J.R., he is what every announcer should strive to be like. He's excellent. He always remains unbiased untill he gets pushed over the edge. He has clever anecdotes and is very knowledgeable. And he's ALWAYS well prepared with a lot of info for every match. And that's all any fan could ask for.
Did you notice that in January Tazz started to back up the heels a bit? He still does it sometimes, but it doesn't sound all that convincing, hehe. It's funny though.

I kinda noticed what you say about Cole (I keep tying Cola), but it's not really annoying to me. At least not yet! He is good at stating the obvious though. But that's no crime, hehe.

In WCW they had this announcer called Mike Tenay, who now works for NWA-TNA. They call him the Professor because he knows everything about wrestling and wrestling moves. He's a walking library, lol. I thought I was gonna miss him a lot, but J.R. makes it all right again.

What is a boomer-sooner, btw? *is clueless*
