Well I think we're witnessing the return of the Booker T you rave about.
Take a look at Smackdown!, Booker's new home. In one show, he has easily shifted into heel mode and he is conducting his business in a damn serious manner. No more jokes, no more Spin-A-Roonies. He almost won the WWE Title last night from Eddie Guerrero. You'll be pleased, Stinger. I'm very sure of this.

I've come to like J.R. a lot. He's pretty cool, and a veteran too. King's just a dweeb in my opinion. When he's serious, he does alright, but he can be so incredibly annoying...
I like Cole and Tazz on SmackDown. Those two really create an environment, and they set down good characters. Tazz provides a lot of strategy talk to the matches, which I find really useful. And meanwhile Cole calls the action in general, I think they make a good team. |
Oh yes, I too am annoyed greatly by King's juvenile announcing. Plus, he has a lot of unintelligent, nonsensical things to say about things other than the women. I mean, he switches horses so damn much. His opinions are inconsistent in many cases. It's annoying. The only time he sounds smart is when he is put next to Coach.
Tazz is cool. I love his analyses of strategy. Cole is annoying. Cole is good, yes. But he's annoying as hell because he is just so clueless. He can't ever put 2 and 2 together and figure something out for himself. And I admire his passion and his dedication to making someone seem like a horrible villain. But I just can't help but think he's too easily offended. I don't know. Cole doesn't get many breaks from me. He just flat out annoys me. But he has skills, no doubt. I respect him and his accomplishments in his career.
As for J.R., he is what every announcer should strive to be like. He's excellent. He always remains unbiased untill he gets pushed over the edge. He has clever anecdotes and is very knowledgeable. And he's ALWAYS well prepared with a lot of info for every match. And that's all any fan could ask for.
