Oh fun, a post for debate!

I don't think it's a problem.

I believe this sentence misses something. It should be rephrased as "I don't believe it's a problem to myself personally." You can't speak for everyone, so I wouldn't try it either. Smoking is a huge problem to many people.
In the old days, it could be compared to black people in the bus. Black people are not allowed in the bus. Non-smokers cannot enter the bus (not being able to breathe in it). Black people can't help that they're black. Non-smokes can't help that they can't breathe in a bus full of smoke. Smokers however, can help that they smoke in that bus. Fortunately, people aren't allowed to smoke in the bus anymore.
There are still plenty of places however, where non-smokers cannot go because of this. So what do we have? Exactly, a problem.
The problem is there. Whether you want to see it, or not.

If a teenager smokes a few cigarettes because it looks cool and falls hopelessly into nicotine addiciton, that teenager deserves lung cancer for believing that looking cool matters to people.

This statment made me lose all faith in the person who wrote this. You can't be more ignorant regarding the things you say than this here. I believe this person is spitting out words without even realizing what they mean.
If person thinks someone deserves lung cancer for something like that, then by his own reasoning this person deserves a car accident just for writing this.

Smokers don't care about you. This person decides to light something on fire and breathe through it because it tastes good and helps them relax.

Another generalisation of a group of smokers as if every smoker doesn't give a flying fuck about anybody. If that were true then I'd enforce the ideal to make smoking to be against the law with a high pentalty pasted to it. If the smoker doesn't give a shit about me, then I don't give a shit about busting the smoker's face up.
Unfortunately there are a lot of smokers who indeed don't give a shit about anybody around them. But most smokers do realize that innocent people do suffer from their habit, and thus they make sure nobody's around when they light one up.

When you smoke, you're not showing people how cool you are. You're really telling everyone that you couldn't give two shits about your health or what you look like or the state of the world, or anything.
|
Heh. Like, "everyone" cares about how you don't give two shits about your own health. As if that's even an interesting topic to pay attention to anymore. You're telling yourself that maybe. Everyone else doesn't give a damn.

They aren't smoking in my bedroom or leaving their cigarette butts in my laundry; they're doing whatever they do and smoking when they want. It's a choice that some people make which sometimes kills them. It's not killing me or you, so who are we to dispute their actions?
|
Ignorance, heh. This person really doesn't know what he's talking about, does he? *gives person decent education on how to shut up when you don't know shit about your topic*

Here comes argument number two that is complete crap: second-hand smoke. I have plenty of friends who smoke and zero lung cancer. Want to know how I do it? I don't breathe in their smoke. People who die because of second-hand smoke are breathing too much of other people's cigarette smoking. Doesn't sound too much like a perplexing problem to me.

Oh wow, Mr. 60 minutes. Don't breathe in their smoke. So what do I do then, not breathe at all? It's very hard to extract and isolate smoke from breathable air, you know. This dude seriously lacks braincells.
Points for corey: FAIL. Next!
