I agree with all that you said except for something in the above paragraph. First of all, the judge being white doesn't mean anything at all. It's the
Jury who convicts him, and decides what to do, and the judge just said "You have been found guilty." So, therefore, the judge being white and him being black doesn't mean anything. His lawyer may not have done a good job, but of course the jury could have been racist. However, I strongly doubt that.
