I think over here you could kill the SOB, and it would be considered self defense, which is the way it should be.
I could see a robber coming into my house and me saying "Oh Please take my Tv. Here let me unplug my computer to give it to you. Oh you missed some of my jewelry..." Yea right . Get real! I'm going to try to take the guy out, or at least get him unconsious, so I can call the police. And I would expect most anyone in their right mind to do the same.

Heh, well don't feel too badly, the leader(s) in our country right now are not, in my opinion, very good in their position.
Hopefully it will change come November.
I hope that your goverment doesn't have a downfall, but that they seriously reconsider some of their laws, and their punishment system. This could be a turning point, who knows.

I know that child experts say that a too leniant environment is not good to raise a child in, just as a too strict environment is not either. In the too leniant the child is more likely to do things just because they have no boundiries, they know no difference between right and wrong, as they haven't been taught. In a too strict environment a child is more likely to do the things he is taught against, out of defiance. I think that applies in a countries law systems also. A good middle is where you want to go to. If only it were that simple. Hah.
