Someone who is not Christian, someone who doesn't know very much about the Christian faith. Isn't it against your religion to become a Christian? You would be killed, correct? I see what's holding you back.
That was very interesting to read about Mohammed. Did he die of natural causes? I understand he was tortured every day. When did this man live? If he lived recently, then maybe you can vouch for that torture. But if you only read about it, it's not the truth (as you have said about Jesus' death on the cross and how extreme His death wasn't - why would Mel have to exaggerate? Read the Gospels, the extremity is there.)
And we sin every day, so we all are dirty (it wasn't meant to be disrespectful, I just didn't understand how Muslims are forgiven for their sin and still don't) until we ask for forgiveness. It says God can't see us, in all of His glory, to answer our prayers to even talk to Him once - you must be cleansed. But you may be dirty and come to Jesus, who washes us from that sin. Declaring salvation.
Why does Jesus (the Son of God, who is as close to God as humans will get) praying to God contradict? God implanted the seed in Mary's tummy, she gave birth to God's Son, Jesus. He died for all of us. To prove that God is real, and it seems we need Jesus' return for people to believe again, faithfully. So that God may save us from hell. It's not enough to have history written in the Holy Bible, you have to see it to believe it.
That is why it is called faith. Having faith in God means that you know He's there. Though invisible, you believe in Him. That is His test. If He was visible to us, everyone would believe. Not to say that we wouldn't sin. But you know this part, Adeel.
Jesus never said to name a religion after Him because man created religion. That is why the Pharisees were against Jesus, because He was blaspheming against their 'holy' temple. When Jesus said "I AM" to the question that He was the Messiah, He was being truthful. Why would He lie? He wouldn't have to. He could have denied it, but that was His destiny to die for all of mankind. Christ was against religion in their terms. They were so devoted to their teachings that they killed their Savior (whom asked for their forgiveness anyhow because they didn't know that He was there to save them). It just goes to show that man created religion and didn't really understand God's offering.
The Bible was written by God's people. Could have been "basically" God's words, as you so generally put your statement ("The Qur'an was not written under inspiration, it was basically written with God's words himself by The Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h).") Prophets, devoted lovers of God. Not "Christians" but those that love God for who He is. That is why the Bible is called His Word.
If I didn't have the Bible to guide me, I'd be as lost as Muslims are without their Qur'an.
If I had it my way, all lost people would find God instead of the temporary filling that they think they have when they indulge in drugs, alcohol, sex, and everything else morally wrong. To be rebels, you have to rebel. That is why the world is so rebellious. We need a spiritual revolution. |
First of all, i dont think if i converted to a Christian, i'd be killed. I could make the same assumption about a Christian, im presumming. Actually, you'd be surprised how much i know about Christianity, really. I know ALOT about it. I have freinds who are really passionate about Christianity and they teach me it all the time, and i teach them Islam all the time, it's really cool. Secondly, when i was in Junior high, i wanted to learn about Christianity. So i picked a perfect book to read titled, "The Bible, The Qur'an and Science." It is written by a Christian scholar himself. He talked himself how science itself proves the Bible wrong and how it actually shows the true light of the Qur'an. He then shows how he converted to Islam based on his findings. He actually sumbled upon them incidentally and had no intention about learning about Islam.
Yes, The Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) died of sickness. He is definetely not a recent being. He was born on April 22, 570 A.D. I would read the Gospels, although i believe in most of it, Muslims do believe there have been some additions as well as subtractions to it. How do we ask for forgiveness? We dont ask priests or high beings in our religions, we ask God himself with only the true intention of not doing the sin again. Allah is the merciful so he does forgive our sins, but if we commit our sins without care, then we will be punished for it.
As for the reasoning that man created religion, i dont think that's true. A religion follows a Holy Book. Therefore when the Bible was written, a religion was written as well. The following of the Bible is a religion and the same with the Qur'an. Actually, Islam isn't a religion, it's a way of life. I shouldn't have written the word "basically" because the Qur'an
IS the true word of Allah himself. Sorry, my bad.
Even if you love God, writing a book under his inspiration still doesn't mean that the book is completely correct. I, myself, can point out contradictions within The Bible directly from where they came from, if you want me to, i will.
