I'm sorry, but i just think you have no right to say that im dirty with sin when i could just simply say the same thing to you. I am not going to refer to name-calling as i think this is a very serious matter so i will answer your question respectfully, something you failed to reply with.
Allah gave the revealations to Angel Gabriel who gave the revealations to The Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). These were inturn the direct revealations give from Allah himself. The Qur'an was not written under inspiration, it was basically written with God's words himself by The Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h).
Now, what has The Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) done for us? He has basically sacrificed his life so he could spread the religion of Islam. He was the single most perfect being ever to exist. He went through so much pain and agony for Allah, the creator that we should all be eternally greatful for. I can go on and on with stories about The Prophet (p.b.u.h) and his punishment, but it would take too long.
Do you know the pain a goat would feel when it's being slaughtered with the knife slicing through it's throat? That's the pain The Prophet (p.b.u.h) felt throughout this whole entire life! He would be walking through alleys and people would be throwing things at him. He would be bleeding everywhere, his socks were drenched in blood! He was even asked by an Angel if he wanted to destroy that town, and The Prophet (p.b.u.h) chose not to because he felt that the descendents from that town would still have a chance of becoming Muslim. He was such a great man, no one could compare to him.
God looks at us all with his love and mercy. Allah has given us 99 names to call him by, can we get any closer than that? We can have all these nicknames for our freinds but Allah has given us 99 names to call him by. Allah loves his creatures and calls them excelent beings. For no one can love us more than Allah, and look down upon us with more mercy than he.
What i dont understand is, how can Jesus (p.b.u.h) himself be God when you believe he prayed everyday. Who was he praying to? In the movie, he says "Oh god" many times, who was he talking to? Himself? It's just so contradictory. When he gave the speech on the mountain, he never once said to name a religion after him named "Christianity". The Bible wasn't even written as God's words, but with his inspiration. That proves nothing close to the truth.
Although Muslims do believe most of the Gospels, we also believe it has had some subtractions as well as additions made to it. |
That book was written as fiction. That is all I am saying. It may contain some cold-hard facts, to you. Someone who is not Christian, someone who doesn't know very much about the Christian faith. Isn't it against your religion to become a Christian? You would be killed, correct? I see what's holding you back.
That was very interesting to read about Mohammed. Did he die of natural causes? I understand he was tortured every day. When did this man live? If he lived recently, then maybe you can vouch for that torture. But if you only read about it, it's not the truth (as you have said about Jesus' death on the cross and how extreme His death wasn't - why would Mel have to exaggerate? Read the Gospels, the extremity is there.)
In fact, Mel said that he only put what the people could handle, not what the full crucifixion was like. I imagine it to be even more extreme then. If you want to dismiss that as hearsay, do that. But I believe Jesus took that massive beating until His unlikely death to represent each of our sins. Each time He was whipped, it was our sin that did that to Him. And we sin every day, so we all are dirty (it wasn't meant to be disrespectful, I just didn't understand how Muslims are forgiven for their sin and still don't) until we ask for forgiveness. It says God can't see us, in all of His glory, to answer our prayers to even talk to Him once - you must be cleansed. But you may be dirty and come to Jesus, who washes us from that sin. Declaring salvation.
Why does Jesus (the Son of God, who is as close to God as humans will get) praying to God contradict? God implanted the seed in Mary's tummy, she gave birth to God's Son, Jesus. He died for all of us. To prove that God is real, and it seems we need Jesus' return for people to believe again, faithfully. So that God may save us from hell. It's not enough to have history written in the Holy Bible, you have to see it to believe it.
That is why it is called faith. Having faith in God means that you know He's there. Though invisible, you believe in Him. That is His test. If He was visible to us, everyone would believe. Not to say that we wouldn't sin. But you know this part, Adeel.
Jesus never said to name a religion after Him because man created religion. That is why the Pharisees were against Jesus, because He was blaspheming against their 'holy' temple. When Jesus said "I AM" to the question that He was the Messiah, He was being truthful. Why would He lie? He wouldn't have to. He could have denied it, but that was His destiny to die for all of mankind. Christ was against religion in their terms. They were so devoted to their teachings that they killed their Savior (whom asked for their forgiveness anyhow because they didn't know that He was there to save them). It just goes to show that man created religion and didn't really understand God's offering.
The Bible was written by God's people. Could have been "basically" God's words, as you so generally put your statement ("The Qur'an was not written under inspiration, it was
basically written with God's words himself by The Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h).") Prophets, devoted lovers of God. Not "Christians" but those that love God for who He is. That is why the Bible is called His Word.
If I didn't have the Bible to guide me, I'd be as lost as Muslims are without their Qur'an.
If I had it my way, all lost people would find God instead of the temporary filling that they think they have when they indulge in drugs, alcohol, sex, and everything else morally wrong. To be rebels, you have to rebel. That is why the world is so rebellious. We need a spiritual revolution.
Jada - I'm glad to hear that you saw the movie. I agree that it should have been longer. I didn't like the ending the first time I saw it. But it made more sense when I caught all of the parts I missed the first time around.
